The painting, Barefoot child in jerusalem, has been accepted to be displayed on the website, http://www.owoatour.info/index.htm, and at
the international exhibit.
This is an international exhibit that will tour several countries and be shown in multiple galleries over a two-year period. The title, Strokes for Hope, refers to painting with compassion and a forward vision. It suggests that works submitted will reflect, on some level, that the artist is thinking about issues such as world peace, hunger and poverty that require positive social change. It is hoped that works will create some viewer awareness or stimulate public thought/action about these types of issues.
The painting, Kimberly's Blessing, has been accepted to be displayed on the website, www.rise-fall.com , and at Rise&Fall events across the country in November, 2009.
Rise&Fall is a mobile art installation and dance event commemorating the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. The exhibition features modern digital artwork interpreting the theme 'bringing down walls/breaking down barriers' (both literally and symbolically) and music performed by Turkish-German DJ/Producer, DJ Ipek Ipekcioglu .
Rise&Fall events will took place November 4-December 1, 2009 in New York, Miami, Boston, Washington, DC and Los Angeles. The Embassy of the Republic of Germany Washington, DC and the Consulate General of the Republic of Germany New York, Miami, Boston and Los Angeles are the official sponsors of Rise&Fall.
